    7-10pm at the El Riad Shrine. Silent auction, hors d’oeuvres, cash bar, door prizes, music and more. A fundraiser sponsored by the El Riad Hospital Auxiliary with proceeds donated to support the Shriner’s Hospital for Children-Twin Cities. Tickets are $25 and available by calling the Shrine Office at 336-1117.)

    8am-1pm at the Center for Active Generations. All-you-can-eat Belgian waffles, sausages and beverage. $6.50 in advance at the Center or $7 at the door.

    2pm in Downtown Sioux Falls.

  • March 13 (Saturday)…DOCTORS IN CONCERT…
    A benefit for Children’s Care Hospital and School…7pm at the Washington Pavilion. Local physicians display their musical talents. The concert features bluegrass, classical and Brazilian music. The show will also feature a ballroom dancing exhibition featuring several doctors and their spouses. There will also be a post-concert St. Patrick’s Day party featuring Mike Connor and the Shamrockers, silent auction, cash raffle, refreshments and more. (Tickets to the concert are $17. Admission to the St. Patty’s Day Party is free with a concert ticket. Call 367-6000 to get yours. Or you can purchase just the St. Patty’s Day tickets separately for $5 by calling 782-8500)

  • March 12th (Friday)…BENEFIT FOR THE GARY AND DARLENE NIPP FAMILY…
    6pm to close at the Moose Lodge on West Burnside in Sioux Falls. Entertainment, silent auction and raffle and more. The Nipp’s lost their home in a fire on February 3rd. ($5 single, $8 couple.)

  • March 12th (Friday)…BONERAMA
    8pm at the Orpheum Theater in downtown Sioux Falls. The three-trombone frontline brass band plays vintage funk, classic rock and more. They played JazzFest in 2007. Two of the trombone players were also members of Harry Connick Jr.’s big band at one time. Tickets are $25 and $38. (www.sfjb.org)

  • FIRE FUND FOR JAMES WINTERS AND DENISE RYERSON…
    A fire at a home owned by Denise and where James was living was completely destroyed in a January 30th fire. Ed Miller Sr. died in the fire. A fund has been set up at all Great Western Bank locations in Sioux Falls. (Dave 335-4018)

  • FREE ELECTRONICS RECYCLING EVENT…

  • PROJECT LINUS
    Volunteer to become a blanketeer. Project Linus provides blankets to ill or traumatized children in the Sioux Empire area. They accept blankets of all sizes and styles in child-friendly colors. Quilts, tied fleece blankets, crocheted or knitted blankets are needed. If you can donate a blanket, call 361-1821 and ask for Diane.
